The other day I posted this pretty funny meme over on the biz IG. Wow, how many of you raised your hands and said, yep, I'm guilty?!
Most creatives have a tendency to be known as "multi-hyphenated" or "serial entrepreneurs" because we’re constantly thinking up and wanting to try new ideas. Although this keeps us innovative in business it can also paralyze us and hold us back. So it’s high time I give you some tips on how to break down just what you should do when you have way too many ideas.
I want you to focus a bit. I KNOW. I like forcing you to do stuff. Makes you accountable. It's time to ask yourself some of the hard questions before you dive into something unknown (or add on something new to what you already offer.)
Let’s breathe and get a clearer vision with these 4 simple steps:
Grab that pad and braindump all your ideas. Get them out of your head and out. Write it down. Go for a walk. Take a shower. Thiiiink.
Now, let's talk about that money. Can you see how much cash each of these fantastic ideas can potentially pull in and what it is going to cost to get there? Go where the profits are FIRST and follow your passions after.
Poll your community. ASK what they want, because there is no use putting out a product or service that your people don’t actually want or need.
Just freakin’ do it. Once you have a better idea of what is going to work and bring you some money, GO FOR IT. Don’t let fear be what is holding you back.
